
My Story
Yaa Konama Bosomtwi is a seasoned humanitarian and global health strategist with over 15 years of experience leading emergency preparedness, strategic communications, and stakeholder engagement across Africa and beyond. She joins the African Cancer Organization (ACO) as the Coordinator of the Woman Campaign, where she will lead campaign planning, partnership development, advocacy, and impact reporting to advance women’s health across the continent.

Yaa has held senior roles at the World Health Organization (WHO), the Global Fund, the SUN Movement Secretariat, and the Organization of African First Ladies for Development (OAFLAD). Her work has spanned fragile and conflict-affected settings, including deployments to Eastern DRC during health emergencies. She has led high-level advocacy campaigns, coordinated ministerial engagements, and mobilized over $1 million in resources to support community-based health programs.

Her expertise includes strategic communication, gender and equity advocacy, stakeholder mapping, and policy alignment. She has advised governments, regional bodies, and global institutions on cervical cancer elimination, nutrition emergencies, and sustainable health financing. Yaa is fluent in English and French and holds advanced degrees in public health and development from Columbia University and Sciences Po Paris.

Based in Ornex, France, Yaa brings a deep commitment to health equity and a passion for empowering women and communities. Her leadership will be instrumental in driving ACO’s Woman Cancer Control Campaign forward—raising awareness, promoting early detection, and advocating for improved access to life-saving services.
