Venus Mushininga has held leadership positions both nationally and internationally on Board of Directors/ professional associations/ executive management positions of several private limited companies, professional bodies, cancer care organizations. She has pioneered the setup of the first pharmaceutical wholesaler that specialized in import and distribution of oncology medicines in Zimbabwe, the first retail pharmacy that specialized in oncology, and the first clinic to provide cancer services in which other clinics have been modelled. She has been responsible for setting up and running a chain of pharmacy retail outlets.

She has worked with multiple stakeholders both nationally, regionally and globally to ensure access to health care services. She has worked as the Program Manager for Non-Communicable Diseases in the Ministry of Health and Child Care in Zimbabwe. Venus has also served as the National Covid 19 Management Response Technical Advisor with the Elizabeth Glaser Pediatric AIDS Foundation (EGPAF). Her goal is to ensure that the goals of Universal Health Coverage are realized in whatever role she plays and that as these goals are attained the voices of women and patients are heard and addressed.

She holds a Bachelor of Pharmacy Degree, Postgraduate Oncology Qualification, Masters in Business Administration, Masters in Public Health and is a Technical Fellow for the Union for International Cancer Control and Union for International Control Young Leader. She is an early career researcher in Access to Oncology Services, Non-Communicable Diseases, Pandemic Preparedness and Response and Global Health Security.

She is currently the ESOP Global Board Member and Board Secretary, Member of the SIOP Core Group of the Global Childhood Cancer Initiative, Women in Global Health Zimbabwe Chapter Lead, part time lecturer at the Women University in Africa and the founder and president of the Zimbabwe Society of Oncology Pharmacy. She is a volunteer at the largest referral hospital in Zimbabwe providing technical advice in oncology services. Venus is currently the Global Cancer Control Campaign Manager for the African Cancer Organisation.
